SHOP FROM ANYWHERE
A Bit of Country does not have an online store — but if you see any item we currently have in stock, or if you saw something when you were here and live at a distance — give us a call and if it’s still available, we can make arrangements to ship to you! Just ask!
We have a few MERRY CHRISTMAS (lighted) Radiance canvas prints that came in this week. This is our third order of this particular print, and sadly we were not able to get as many as we wanted. Some of you who asked to be called upon delivery have been called, and we have just a few more to put out for sale. Stop in soon if you want one!
Christmas music from GreenHill Productions has arrived. We will be playing it in the store beginning Black Friday, but we have it for sale now. Celtic and Irish music; Smokey Mountain; Gaither Vocal Band; Oak Ridge Boys; BlueGrass and more music is available now!
Door County Coffees and Cocoas have just been restocked, including Jingle Bell Java (our best seller) and much more!
We will again decorate one of our trees with an assortment of ornaments that can be bought for a donation that we will make to the Red Cross (and maybe another local organization). The tree will be decorated by Black Friday for your donation purchases! More info on that to come.
Candles and melts from Cheerful Giver, Swan Creek, Goose Creek, 1803, McCalls are here, with more to come!
Like us on Facebook (ABitOfCountryGiftShoppe) and keep up with other new happenings, including our Holiday store hours!

We get deliveries of our Christmas and winter gifts and decor all summer long. Open boxes, ooh and ahh, check each piece carefully, pack it away until November! Then in November we open boxes and all over again we ooh and ahh over each piece before we carefully put it in the best place for you to see. Often, we’ve forgotten just how cute this stuff is!
Just to share a few photos with you . . .
Snowmen tree huggers . . . . oooh

Really cute ornaments . . . ooooh

and always, Dottie’s Snowmen . . . ooooh

You could probably hear all the ooohh’s and aaahhh’s up thru the mall!
This year, we are doing our 12 Days of Christmas Sale a little differently. We started on December 1 so we can end on December 12 with the biggest sale that we’ve ever had in our ten Christmases! Today is our third day sale — 25% off ornaments [except for our local made Dottie’s Snowmen and Handmade by Cheryl] — only on sale today! You can check here each day to see what will be on sale or give us a call or just check in when you are by the mall to see what is on sale that one day. Some of the items to come (in no special order) are mugs, soaps and lotions, wall calendar frames, plush, jar candles, magnetic art, snowmen, dips and mixes.
And then . . . the 12/12/12 twelfth day of our Christmas Sale!
Stay tuned in!
Black Friday is not our busiest day of this shopping season. Small Business Saturday, while we are grateful to American Express for promoting the idea of a dedicated day to shop small businesses, is not our busiest day of this shopping season. But over the next 4 weeks, our customers will make this our busiest month of the year. Some of you have come into the store for the first time wondering how long we’ve been open (and how long you’ve missed out not knowing we were here). Some of you make it here once or twice a year when you are in the area visiting your families. Some of you have already been by here several times this month (we’ve let you know how much we appreciate your effort to single-handedly keep us in business!). Some of you are so familiar with our store and our products, you’ve taken it upon yourself to help other customers with advice from your experience with curtains, braided rugs and dip mixes, or where to find the silicone coated light bulbs, or which string lights work the best on what size tree or garland . . . we love you all!
We opened at 5am Black Friday and served coffee and snacks all weekend after Thanksgiving . . . and didn’t even make you wait in line for hours to pick up what you needed. We have a candy dish at the counter (right now filled with Root Beer Barrels) to give you some shopping energy. While we don’t sell big screen tv’s or the latest electronic gadgets or expensive jewelry — you know we have some straight-from-the-heart gifts that make you smile and express the sentiments we all love to share in this season of giving.
We are kicking off our annual Twelve Days of Christmas sale starting this weekend. Each day we will have a different product or group of products on sale. New this year we will post our sales at the start — except for December 12, which will be a once-in-a-lifetime-sale for us (just like 12/12/12!)
How did it get to be November . . . and what happened to October?
Many of you may have been affected by the stormy weather along the east coast last week. Here in Hanover in southern Pennsylvania, we got much rain and wind . . . but most folks we’ve been talking to feel very lucky to have gotten off without even an electric blink. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you who are dealing with the aftermath of Sandy.
We have been busy changing seasons in the store. Out with the fall (packing up a couple boxes of goodies till next year) and in with the winter and Christmas inventory. It almost seems like Christmas while we are reopening boxes that we got way-back-when in July!
So, while we have been digging thru boxes of beautiful product you will want to see . . . we managed to move some displays around. You will see the difference next time you stop by. In the meantime — here is a sneak peak inside!
We moved our cubby display to our candle area and are using it to show off our battery operated candles. While there are many, many Battery Candle designs out there – we have picked some we really like, and it seems our customers like them too! We may also use a few of these spaces here for our string lights (so we have room to display our boxed Christmas Cards where our string lights currently are!)
Just wanted to remind you that we have wooden calendar frames that hold our Lang, Legacy and Crossroads primitive calendars. During our 12 Days of Christmas Sale (that starts later this month) we will have a special that involves these calendar frames. Currently we have black, vintage red, saddle, honey walnut and oak frames. Our final order of Lang mugs and 2013 Lang calendars has just been sent in. We still have a nice selection of all our wall calendars – and we also have cloth calendars!
Our snowmen and snowladies are patiently waiting for you to come by!
By the way, while we are decorating for Christmas, we always keep an area with some fall florals, garlands and ‘turkey’ items for those of you who would like to pick up something to add to your Thanksgiving table!
In this season of gift giving we remember that “every good and perfect gift comes down from above . . .”
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son . . .”
Blessings to you this Christmas and in the new year.
