Our Fall Open House has come and gone. Lots of you came by to visit, get ideas, buy really great things and share what’s been going on since we saw you last. We encouraged our customers to bring along food that would be shared with local food banks.
And you did.
Yesterday, we delivered 176 pounds of all kinds of canned food (fruit, veggies, tuna, soups, spaghetti sauce) – and lots of pasta, taco kits, and more! All that went to our local New Hope Ministries Food Bank and they are always appreciative of all donations!
In addition to all that, we will be taking the single-serving size food over to Ruth’s Harvest Backpack Program. Volunteers there sort all the packages of food, then pack a variety of items into small backpacks and deliver them to elementary schools for participating children to take home on Fridays to have some nutritious meals and snacks over the weekend. Lots of options for donating to this organization – tuna kits, drinks, cereal, pudding and fruit cups, peanut-free snacks, mini-meals and lots more.
